Kite flying is great fun. I realised it on Saturday when I flew a kite for the first time. Group of friends got together to celebrate Sankranti festival by flying colorful kites on the beach. It was a kite competition; each of us trying to fly our kites high and hoping others' kites would just crash into water. Finally our diamond kite won against the butterfly and the glider :-).

Eilean Donan Castle

I am fascinated by Castles and their history. I love the massive stone structures; huge towers; beautiful gardens, waterways; secret passages; and rich history that are linked to them.

This one is the Eilean Donan Castle built in 1220 for Alexander II. This is said to be the most photographed Castle in Scotland.

It seems like yesterday that Nandu and I decided to run away from our hectic worklife and go on a vacation to Manali. We wanted to leave our tensions behind and just freak out and have fun; thats what we did. It was an adventurous and fun trip right from the start. Our bus from Delhi to Manali breaking down in the middle of the journey; we travelling by local bus and reaching our destination 8 hrs late; weather being unexpectedly cold making our hands and feet numb; Paragliding for the first time in my life and watching the majestic Himalayas as we glided down the hill; Skiing and trekking on snow till our feet ached and then soaking our feet in natural warm water of Vashisht hot springs to relieve the pain; having coffee on the terrace of Snow Valley Resorts watching the snow capped mountains and green forests below it; wearing the traditional Himachal costume and taking hundreds of pics; sitting silently on the banks of river Beas for hours; or just watching some crappy movie in the room at night and laughing our hearts out.

White Peacock

This snap was taken in Leeds Castle in Kent,England. This was the first time I had seen a white peacock. This beautiful and majestic birds are not as common as the blue-green peacocks.
